Introduction: American Literature....

American... a word that can be dreaded... and relieving at the same time. In America, even if messed up a little... we have a lot more freedom; that freedom leading to some of the best novels, inventions, and musicians on this planet. I of course experience the full on American Dream, with one exception, I do not wish to become famous for money or glory; simply, just to be heard. My dream isn't particular..well more like undecided! I may want to be a poet... a writer... a lyricist... or a musician who does all of the above.

I have always enjoyed American novels... from Sandra Cisneros to Mark Twain. Unique, definitely a word to describe America's take on literature... in America, there is a sense of homeyness in writing. By that, I mean, American Literature is more laid-back and a personality wise writing. You may think, hmm, isn't every writing personality based? Sure! Of course it is, but America has a more adapt perception it; for other's country literature... is basically defined over amusement. Take Shakespeare for example! His writing was based on entertainment... like modern television.. something everyone could relate to, but it wasn't about him, his personality didn't shine through, his ability to write amazing art, did.

Overall, American Culture is based off of comfort... and lives of everyday people. We want to achieve everything possible, that's also why this is known as the land of Opportunities. I will commend the fact, that most Americans are proud, hard-workers, and they push for their dreams. We still need change though! I'm German, I moved to America, the best thing here, the education system, you have more to learn in the classes here. Yet I yearn for outside adventures... outside lessons awaiting me.
