Creepy, man.

Personally, I know my step-dad carried fear; fear that he wouldn't make it through the war. The men in the book carry a sentiment to the things they used to have. Sometimes the things they carried weren't what they necessarily wanted, but had to. Denial it's a major role in how someone got through the war. It's almost like a whole other world where you feel as though the bad isn't there.

Lt. Cross, an odd fella if you ask me. So far I've learned he has a creepy obsession with this girl who doesn't love him, and he's on the virge of a mental breakdown. He let one of his man die, so he has already messed himself up a bit. Well, I know this character will be alive in the future. However, I know and believe that his PDS (Post Dramatic Stress Syndrome) will worsen as he grows older.

Everything we have learned to regards of the Vietnam War have linked through one strong symbol, to protect our own. The novel is basically a giant struggle about the men in Vietnam, and the things they have to face. The war part of it, which includes emotional issues. The movie we watched identifies with the political side. He decided to fight for the freedom of knowledge.  The history seems to set an example for how we only continue wars, after all these years, for foolish reasons.
